Every human being who enjoy the Sweet Creations of God must help those who need help, as their duty as well as a thanks giving to God. On this basis I had a great ambition to console others by religious speeches. Since the last 14 years I had several opportunities to give helping hands to Patients, and Orphanage children with the blessings of God and Great Men.
A mother of a mentally retarded child who met me once said that we found a lot of helping hands coming forward to help clever students but no one to children with learning difficulties. Further she cried and told me the story of her child. In another occasion, a student of mine told me about his father’s death, leaving himself and his only sister who is mentally retarded. He also told me about his sister and his difficulties in looking after her.
In a seminar I attended, a Professor in this field stated that in normal schools, admissions were not given to these children with learning disabilities and as such some parents keep their children in closed rooms in their homes. This information touched my heart and I felt extremely sorry for them.
When these children visit Kovil Festivals or any other Public functions, others look at them as if they are inanimate things and pass hints and ridicule them. Such incidents I witnessed also disturbed me emotionally.
We should point out that the foreigners show love ,mercy and grace on these children and give priority to them where as our people ignore them customarily. By this practice most of our philanthropists were highly disturbed. All these incidents made me to think and take decision of building up a school for them.
For the last three years I have been meeting the persons who are running variousChildren Homes, and appealed to them to establish a school for these mentally retarded children too. But my request was turned down and I was told that this is s very difficult task to implement.

Dr.S.Kugathasan and his wife Kalaivany Kugathasan donated a land of their relative to build up the school.
Mr.K.Sivaji,the Principal of Skandawarodaya College Chunnaham, laid down the foundation stone to this school on the auspicious day of Arvany Sathurthy in August 2003.The school was completed as one main feature of the Trust established in the name of Siva Poomi. For the last three years the Siva Poomy has assisted financially the Cancer Patients, donated Hearing Devices to auditarally handicapped and helped financially to the education of poor students. The colossal activities of Siva Poomi are appreciated by all.
I have a habit of donating the money collected in Religious Discourses to various charities. I am proud to say that I have learnt such practice from my elders. The guidance of Mother Dr. (Miss) Siva Thamizl Chelvi Thangamma Appakuddy gave me an impetus to fulfill this task. With the help of her advices and guidance this school is established.
The Board of Directors rendered their great services satisfactorily and thus the school building was completed soon.

This venture is established with the view of providing the children born with learning disabilities, the quality education and great blessings and enabling them to live with dignity in the society. Finally I earnestly request the men with kind heart and mercy to guide and let this charity be a strong and healthy institution until the world exists so that these children may lead a happy contented and prosperous life.
